Fabulous storytelling, Dean! Well done. Reminds me the flooding in Montecito, California just a month or so ago when a recent atmospheric river blew across the Pacific.

Thanks Barbara. Writing this note to you while we are under a lightning storm in Manchester!

Hi Dean, just became a paid subscriber , will the online talks be accessible any time after the initial time slot or just at the time you do them ?

Thanks

Hi Dean. I would really like it if you recorded your talks, Chris

Hi Anne. Thanks very much — and really nice to hear. I’ll drop you a longer note this week, but I’ve been thinking how best to do this. I’m planning to repeat them later in the year, but I could also record them if that would work best?

Fascinating. In 1869, my ancestor Patrick Battle buried two of his babies right at that spot. In the low corner. The large double family plot is still there with its headstone. I have often wondered if his children, who had died of measles, were washed away.

Thanks Elizabeth - and sad to hear about the two children. It just goes to show that even though these events were a long time ago, they happened to real people and families. I think the plot and headstone still being there is a good sign that they are still there.
